[ When you are blind, everything is terrifying and time stops having meaning, Peter can't fault Newt for being skittish. ]

Ey!..oh, shit, Newt, wait!

[ He sees that cart near his friend, and how the Seal man doesn't seem to realize they're a disaster in the making, and Peter is already wincing. He speeds up, or rather, tries to swim faster in their direction, but miscalculates just how fast his new body can go now.

The good thing is that he reaches Newt before the cart can run him over.

The not-so-good thing is that inertia is a cruel mistress, even underwater, and the one whose body slams into Newt is Peter himself, chest first.

OOP WE'RE CRASHING INTO EACHOTHER]

[And so the blind man lays on the floor, groaning

defeated

[ At least Newt has stopped moving. Peter's stupidly large fins are harder to control, and after crashing against Newt, he ends up hitting yet another thing - the wall of a nearby building- until his body comes to a halt.

Peter's is seeing the world upside down, so he has to right himself with more than a little effort and half swims, half crawls towards his friend. ]

Augh, shit...Are you okay? [ Peter is going to gently poke him on the side. ] Newt? Say something, please.

[... A soft groan in response.

Then the little fishman sits up, looking dazed while not looking, uh, at anyone in particular.

He clumsily adjusts his glasses, waving a hand in a direction that Peter most definitely isn't located.]

I'm cool! I'm great. What's a few bruises between friends?

[ There are some confused murmurs from the other people present, but someone eventually helps Peter right himself. He says thanks and sorry almost simultaneously and then swims to Newt's side at a slower pace than before. ]

Still!! Sorry, I was swimming really fast and there was a cart about to hit you. Never mind that now...I'm going to touch your arm, okay? It's me.

[ And he does just that, pulling Newt closer to give him a better look and check his eyes. ]

Uh, it's kinda hard to tell if you have a concussion, to be honest.

Nah, it's cool! I mean, I'm not dead, so it's cool. Cool cool cool-

[Is it really cool? Because he sounds frustrated and halfway toward a freak-out. He freezes, letting Peter move him around like a prop. Yet again, his eyes don't particularly focus on anywhere, especially not on Peter's face as he looks back. But at least his eyes seem uninjured; no film of blindness, or anything macabre.]

... I think your big heroic bosom broke my fall.

Easy, easy...I'm here, I'll take care of you.

[ Frankly, at this point, it's an automatic reaction when it comes to Newt. Peter doesn't mind, they're friends, so he worries. The joke about his chest startles Peter and helps him relax. ]

That's the nicest thing anyone has ever said about my tits. [ He pats Newt's cheek a couple of times, gently and playful. ] Why don't you wrap your arms around my neck and I'll swim us back to the place where I'm staying? Fewer people there to see us act like weirdos, and we can wait for this to pass together.

[ He REALLY hopes the blindness will go away. If not, Peter's finding a doctor to check Newt's eyesight. ]
