Something about the additional smell of the salts -pleasant as it was- tugged at the corners of a memory deep in the back of Thor's mind, but it hadn't managed to surface, he hadn't managed to make any sort of real connection before Peter spoke again, asking him a question.
His smile emerged a moment later, along with a low laugh, shaking his head, "I think we ought to have gotten in before it was done filling, though then we might not have managed to get out again later." Another little head shake, offering Peter a hand, "You first, I'll settle where there's room." Whether that was behind him or across from him remained to be seen, but he would make sure they were both comfortable, which was the important part.
Peter was oblivious, far more focused on the pleasant smell and enjoying how rarely the Guardians got to engage in this kind of luxuries than any worry regarding what else the hotel room had in store for them.
After Thor's laugh, Peter stared at him, then at the filled tub and gave a casual, and totally unapologetic; "Oops."
Given the kind of planet they were in, he wouldn't be surprised if the staff were more than used to cleaning all sorts of liquids from all kinds of surfaces. Some water on the bathroom floor would be nothing in comparison.
"We will keep that in mind for the next time. I'll be a thigh fit, but that's part of the fun."
He took Thor's hand, rather charmed by the simple gesture, and gave it a squeeze before he got into the bathtub. There was no stopping the hum Peter let out when his skin got in contact with the water, hot but not scalding, clean, and pleasant. After considering their options, he decided that he rather wanted to use Thor's chest as a pillow, so he bent his knees and scooted forwards, so the god could settle himself behind him
"Get in here before I change my mind, and I decide to keep the bath all too myself. It feels really nice."
There was another warm laugh at the threat as he stepped into the bath as well, amused at the displaced water as he settled, one knee drawn up against the side and the other stretched out alongside Peter's.
It was, indeed, a close fit, but it was comfortable enough, especially with the heat of the water. He settled back, one arm resting along the edge of the tub and the other draping over Peter's shoulder, drawing him back just enough to maintain almost full-body contact between them, "There we are." His voice had dipped again, that simple statement was almost some kind of praise, he couldn't help it, really.
He still couldn't quite place what the smell of the bath salts reminded him of, but decided not to dwell on it so much, instead just letting it waft over him the same way the heat of the water was sinking into his skin, relaxing him in a long slow sweep.
Predictably, 1/3 of the water spilled over the bathtub rim once both men made themselves comfortable, but Peter paid it no mind, only chuckling. Once Thor seemed comfortable, if a little squished, he leaned back against the god's ample chest, the extra weight on his shoulder a welcome one. The low tone of Thor's voice prompted Peter to nod and let out a long, happy sight, shuddering slightly. Damn that hot voice, so distracting.
"Do you think we should install more bathtubs in the Benatar? We all have showers. We're clearly missing out. Imagine the things we could do."
Of course, there was no need to imagine here, just things to try out. Peter slid one of his hands over the curve of Thor's leg at his side for no other reason than he could, and he wanted to. He also leaned his head back, resting on Thor's shoulder, and turned it slightly to look up at him.
He made a thoughtful little sound at the question, shifting his shoulders just a little as Peter leaned back, getting comfortable, "We could, though I'm afraid if we did even less would get done than already does."
He shook his head then, the barest edge of a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth, "And imagine how much worse the fights would be if there wasn't one in everyone's quarters." Which considering that they already used the same showers, and things had -occasionally- nearly come to blows, he didn't think the prospect of an actual bath would make that any better.
